An Essence of 4th of July for the Americans

June 29, 2010

Being one of the participants of the US Independence Day on 4th of July is great honor for everyone; especially for the Americans, 4th July is monumental day. Luckily, I got the opportunity to participate in 4th July activities with some of my American friends last year. The way Americans celebrate the 4th of July, it became unforgettable for me.

In fact, the history of vintage 4th July had been commenced on 4th of July 1976 when the great scholar and leader of the US freedom fighter Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence and made conviction to overwhelm the British rule. The Americans were no more in mood Great Britain to be able to make rules for them; they decided to be independent so that they can make rules for themselves. Subsequently, American Congress called a meeting in Philadelphia, and constituted a committee to document a formal declaration to affirm Great Britain that they are capable enough to rule themselves. Hence, the honor to document the declaration had been given to Jefferson. The Jefferson’s independence declaration officially adopted on 4th July 1976. Jefferson’s monumental declaration is the United States’ most cherished symbol of liberty. In the declaration, Jefferson expressed the convictions in the hearts and minds of all Americans.

Well, the things I liked most about the United States Independence Day are 4th July activities, 4th July clip art, and 4th July decorations. This is Federal Holiday/national holiday symbolizes patriotic displays. Basically, this is outdoor celebrations and all residents get together at a public places to give tribute to the martyrs who died in the war of the US Independence and the great leaders whose efforts gave the Americans independence. They also praise the nation’s heritage, history, laws, society, and the people.

Later on, all people enjoy 4th July party with their family members and friends. Some of them also love to go on picnic or other places of celebrations. The entire country decorated like a bride; everywhere the colorful lightening decorations and other decorative things simply thrill people and compel to enjoy that moment the fullest.

Among the 4th July activities, I liked most the firework shows. On the eve of US Independence, fireworks often move with patriotic songs or national anthem. In the year of 2009, New York City had maximum fireworks show with more than 22 tones of pyrotechnics exploded. In addition, a salute of one gun for each state in the US, known as “salute to the union” is fired by military base at noon.
